Frequently Asked Questions for the HELBIONET Assembly Workshop

In order to facilitate your participation at the HELBIONET Assembly Workshop we have compiled this document with frequently asked questions:

 

1. Who can participate in the HELBIONET Assembly Workshop?

 

Anybody with an interest in biodiversity data and data observatories can participate in the workshop. The Workshop will take place from 25th to 26th of May 2010. Only the members of the HELBIONET Steering Committee can attend the 2nd Steering Committee meeting which will take place on the 24th of May and on the 26th of May 2010, after the conclusion of the Assembly Workshop.

 

 

2. What expenses are covered? 

Transport and Hotel accommodation (including breakfast and dinner) expenses are fully covered for only one representative from each partner of the HELBIONET consortium. Accommodation will be covered for the night on the 25th of May and if necessary for the night on the 24th of May, in case you arrive on the previous day. Coffee and lunch will be offered during the Assembly Workshop to all participants.

 

  1. How can I book my tickets and accommodation?

First you need to register online for the Assembly Workshop (http://www.helbionet.org/node/27) and then to inform Dr Eva Chatzinikolaou from the management force (2810-337842,evachatz@her.hcmr.gr) that you have been selected as a representative from your institute. She will give you the contact information of our travel agent and you will directly contact them to arrange your travel details. You will receive the e-tickets for your flight and the information on the Hotel by email. Please remember to keep your boarding pass together with any other tickets (metro, bus) you will use during your travel. You are kindly asked to deliver them to a member of the organising committee upon your arrival and to send your return boarding passes and tickets by post.

In case you want to participate in the Assembly Workshop and you are covering your own expenses you can also contact us if you need any help with your travel arrangements.

  

  1. Where is the hotel?

Hotels are both located in Gouves in a short (15 minute) walk from the central building of Hellenic Centre for Marine Research where the Assembly Workshop will take place.

  1. How can I get to the hotel from the airport?

             The organizing committee will take you from and to the airport.

 

  1. Where is the exact location where the Assembly Workshop will take place?

 The Assembly Workshop will take place in the amphitheatre (ground floor) and the 2nd Steering Committee meeting will take place in the seminar room (1st floor), both located in the central building of Hellenic Centre for Marine Research - Institute of Marine Biology and Genetics, Thalassocosmos, Former US Base in Gournes, Crete.

  1. When is the deadline for the registration in the Assembly Workshop?

Deadline for the registration is May the 21st.

 

  1. Will I receive a certificate of attendance?

In case you need a certificate of attendance please inform Dr Eva Chatzinikolaou from the management force (2810-337842, evachatz@her.hcmr.gr) in advance
